"We from AMAZONAS have personally visited this project on site. It moved us, moved us a lot and convinced us that we will support it with 20,000 Euros every year. So we, and you as a customer, can not only bring work and progress to Brazil through hammock production, but also create a future for Brazilian street children.”
In Brazil, about 32,000 children live absolutelly neglected on the streets. Every day they fight for their survival and against the reality: hunger, cold, prostitution and drugs - while living in constant fear of violent attacks by gangs and the police.
In order to enable the children a humane existence, the association "Der Kleine Nazareno e.V." was founded in 1994. In the last twenty years, two Nazareno villages were created in this way, which today are a new home for more than 110 children.
The Nazareno villages, located outside the centers of Fortaleza and Recife, offer the children accommodation where they are looked after around the clock. From the first day on, they attend one of the state-approved schools with the option to attend a secondary school. From the age of 15, the lessons are supplemented by practical vocational training.
Subsequently, the children are supported in their search for work and accompanied step by step until they finally stand on their own two feet.
We are in regular and close contact with the founder and director of the aid organization.
